New Girls Concert Dresses
We issued the new girls concert dresses after school on Monday 1/31 and again on Monday 2/7. A big Thank You goes out to Ly McGrath and Sam Draper for their help! If your student has not received a new black concert dress, please have them see the directors during class.
Note on alterations: The dresses have not been pre-hemmed and will most likely be too long. We will not have a tailor come in to do any hemming, so you will need to take the dress to a tailor of your choice to have it hemmed at your own expense. Please let your tailor know that it is ok to cut the dress material when doing the hem. UIL performances take place in April (pre-UIL is during the week of April 11 and UIL is during the week of April 25) so everyone will need to have their alterations done by then.
If you have not returned the old black dresses we issued in November, please do so. They do NOT need to be dry-cleaned.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Ensemble Recital: February 15th
The ensemble recital will take place on Tuesday, February 15th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm to allow students and parents to eat dinner at home prior. We will serve desserts and punch in a “come and go” format similar to band concerts. Please use the SignUp Genius posted below to indicate that you plan to bring desserts to share. We also have some slots for volunteers as well. If you have questions or want to help with serving desserts, then contact Teresa Shurtz and Cindy Snapka, Hospitality Chairs.
Nominating Committee
FBBC is looking for at least 3 members to serve on the nominating committee for next year’s OPEN board and committee chair positions. The nominating committee’s job is to recruit members to fill these OPEN positions and are NOT required to actually fill these positions. These efforts usually begin in February with a desire to vote on the new officers at the April/May meeting.
If you are interested in serving on the nominating committee, then please send a text to Ruth Soisson at (281) 728-4082.
Band Banquet
We have reserved the large atrium in the Bayou Building at the University of Houston, Clear Lake for the banquet which will take place on Saturday, May 14th (in the evening). This event will include a catered meal, awards ceremony, and entertainment. The purpose is to celebrate student achievement, with a focus on our 28 seniors! It is also a great time for students and parents to socialize and cap off the school year. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend this event.
If you have special talents in event planning that you would like to share, then consider joining this committee! In addition, we will need lots of volunteers at the event itself and will keep you informed as it gets closer. If you would like to get involved, contact Chrystal Limon (Band Banquet Chair) at davidandchrystallimon@gmail.com .
