On Thursday, 2/17, the Wind Symphony will travel by Charter Bus to Kansas for their performance Saturday, 2/19 and return to Mason, late Saturday, 2/20, around 11:00pm.  

Mason Bands strongly recommends students travel on provided transportation to the event to ensure all arrive on time to prepare for the performance.  Director approval is needed to travel separately to Kansas City.  

Please complete this form to share your student's  travel plan and to confirm you understand and agree to Mason Band's Healthy Travel Protocol in the continued COVID era.  

Families are welcome to come to Kansas City to watch the performance at the Kauffman Center.  If you want your student to travel with you rather than ride the bus home, they may be signed out after the concert Saturday night or early Sunday morning.   If you do not pick up your student at that time, your student will return on the bus with the band.  We will call the contact provided to pick your student, but can not make the whole band wait if you are late to pickup.  

As noted below, if your student becomes ill during the trip, you will be asked to come to Kansas to pick them up promptly. They will not be allow to ride home on the bus.  If this occurs at the end of the event, the student will return to the hotel with director supervision  and will remain at the hotel until the parent/guardian arrives for pick-up.  Due to the travel distance to Kansas City, we strongly recommend students take a voluntary COVID 19 rapid test prior to travel to minimize the risk of needing a pick-up in Kansas City.
