Auditions

Auditions dates for the 2024-2025 season will be May 6th-9th at RESERVOIR HS for strings and winds and on May 11th at HOWARD COMMUNITY COLLEGE for percussionists.

Audition requirements, including excerpts for each instrument are available for download using the links at the bottom of the page. Our process for scheduling auditions is as follows:

1) Follow the link at the end of these instructions to submit an application for the orchestra.

2) As part of your application, you will visit a sign-up genius page where you can choose your audition time. Be sure to choose a slot that corresponds to your instrument. You will then enter that time on your application. When we receive your application, we will send you an email confirming receipt of your application. Please note that this is not an automated response so the email will not come instantly. If you have filled out an application and do not receive an audition time within 7 days, please email 'directors@hocoyo.org' (The most common cause of this is a mistyped email in the application and is easily corrected).

3) If you can not find any suitable audition times, please email ‘directors@hocoyo.org’ so that we can arrange a time that works for you.

Eligibility: You must be a high school student in the Howard County Public School System and be enrolled in your school band or orchestra for the 2024-2025 school year.
