Some important points for measuring:
-no shoes. When recording height, stand flat on floor with back against the wall. use a ruler at the top of the head and mark how many inches that is above the floor.
-when measuring or taking weight, no more than 1 layer (as that is all that is worn under the uniform - typically athletic/bike shorts and a athletic/dry fit shirt)
-both the male and female measurements have different conversions. Select which measurement you want to be set with for the uniform.
-no need to measure percussion separately (we will be wearing our harnesses outside of the uniform, not under)
-for measuring chest: measure the fullest part, under the arms, and completely around the body
-for measuring waist: measure at the waistline (not where your pants fall). This is typically across the navel, and completely around the body.
-for measuring hip: measure at the fullest part, and completely around the body (this is usually 7-8 inches below the natural waistline)
-for measuring wrist: measure around but add a finger (or two) beneath the tap measure to allow for sleeves and comfortable closure
-for measuring head circumference: measure around the head just above the eyebrows, and completely around. Add a finger beneath the tape measure for comfort (so the shako is not too tight).
