Volunteer
Our 2023 parent/guardian survey showed that people want to get to know other band families. Volunteering is the BEST WAY to do that. Every parent of a Lincoln Band student is technically part of the Band Parents Association. Right now and in the 2024-25 school year, we have a high need for volunteers for ongoing and one-time needs. We are asking every family to volunteer a minimum of 4 hours in some capacity. Many hands make light work, and we cannot do this good work without the help of our band friends and families. Plus, it's fun to interact with the students, leaders and other families!
Most Critical Needs Right Now
We are currently focusing on the roles that are most critical to ensure that we set up our students, directors and the program for success. We are looking to fill open roles before we go into the new marching band season. At the beginning of June, students start sectionals, and our BPA begins a new budget year.​

Complete Our Interest Form by April 1
Please complete the volunteer interest form by April 1, so we can review interest across band families, start to reach out and answer questions. Filling out the form is not a commitment. It’s a chance to open the door and start a conversation about your interest areas. However, we do want to fill roles before June 1, 2024. Note that any volunteers working directly with students must complete a background check with the Sioux Falls School District, which must be renewed each school year.
Volunteer Background Check
Each school year, all volunteers with the band must complete the unsupervised volunteer background check form for the Sioux Falls School District website. It takes around two weeks for background checks to complete.(If you work for the school district, this form is not necessary.)
